Once upon a time in the kingdom of Aquatread...
but sometimes I try anyway................

I am not a domestic woman, I'm really not. I don't like to clean, and I don't like doing dishes, laundry, decorating, cooking, or baking unless I have to. There are some exceptions to this rule. Sometimes I will do something just because I know it will make my husband happy. Like today. I had intended to get a cake and take it to him at work on Saturday for his birthday, but our schedules have been so different lately that I didn't know until Friday night that he had Saturday off. So, today I decided to take him a cake, but I decided to bake it myself. I dug out my candy-making supplies, dusted them off, and started in. It took me alot longer than I had thought it would, and by the time I got to his location, it was time for PT. So, he'll be taking the cake back to work with him tomorrow, as it is not for him alone. There are two others as well. I hope they all enjoy it, even though it doesn't look as pretty as I would like.

His wife made him a cake. You spent thought, time and energy for something he would like. He'll love it.

There are several dishes my wife makes. I love it when she makes it especially for me.

Also, ITS CAKE !!!!!! What's not to love.

Thank you, InfoGeek and Ravenblack. He did love it (the sight and the idea that I made it, since he hasn't eaten any yet), was very surprised that I had made it.

I'm not sure about the picture, it should be working..............can anyone else see it?

Get that cake back up there! Nice surprise for your hubby. Who likes housework? Not me but I know that if I don't keep it up, things get messy and I hate mess worse than housework.

The cake went back to work today, and (from what I was told) the guys enjoyed it. For those who couldn't see the pic, it was a round cake, chocolate frosting, with candy pieces on it (homemade--a globe, complete with blue for the oceans, in the middle, and three smaller pieces). I used white chocolate to write Happy Birthday on top, with initials on each of the three small pieces for SPC Nobody Special, SGT Greywar, and SSG Geezer (real initials, though).

I haven't been here for a while and wanted to blog about it. It was definitely appreciated since I missed the USMC birthday cake on the 10th. (Like I need cake!)
Thanks Lady Cleve!

You're welcome, SSG Geezer. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I was going to put your blogging names on the cake, but I couldn't fit all three on there. Maybe next time I'll make a bigger one.
