Once upon a time in the kingdom of Aquatread...
people seemed to think I was

I was at work last Saturday, driving around town, delivering pizzas, having fun. Part of the fun of my job is the freedom I have to listen to whatever I want to while I'm driving. I have different tastes in music. The CDs currently in my car range from Dr. Demento, to Bon Jovi, to Christian Jazz, to Queen, to Opera, etc. And I like to sing along. That's normally not a big deal, but Saturday I guess was over the top to some. The tunes? Opera's Greatest Drinking Songs Singing along with that CD got me some really strange looks, especially going through the gates on post. You would think that the only reasonable explanation for my choice of music would have been that I was drunk. Considering my job, it's a good thing I wasn't.

So, to all of you reading this, what do you listen to in the privacy of your vehicle? Do you sing along? Windows up or down? You know you want to share!

Hiya,

Here in Scotland, I tend to listen to BBC4 or Real mainly as our car radio doesn't pick up anything else and we don't have a CD player in it... will sing along if they happen to play a good song (which is rare!!) oh and windows most definetly up (very cold outside )

Back in Australia, I would blast all sorts of music (as I put in a fantastic sound system which I miss greatly!) from The Beatles (My all time favourite!), to Placebo, Blink 182, Dashboard Confessionals, John Butler Trio and Lamb (to mention a few). I definetly sing along, loud and out of tune! and depending on the heat outside windows could be up or down...Oh I miss my car!

Nope, I hardly ever have the car radio on when I am by myself. I love the silence. When riding along on a long trip with my SO, I will read something we both consider significant and then as the miles fly by we discuss what we have read. Sometimes we buy a CD collection of some story we both are interested in and listen to than on long trips. On the last trip we listened to Tommy Franks' "American Soldier" story. That was really great.

I wouldn't dare sing. People would go off the road screaming!

I've thought about the book on tape or CD option. I love to read (not as much as SPC Nbs), but I just don't have enough time to read everything I would like to. I think the tape option would work even better for me, as I am constantly starting and stopping on the road, and with my CD player I'd either have to leave it paused or find my place every time I stop. Maybe I'll see what they have at the library. For now, I'm off to work.....................not sure what I'll listen to tonight.

What's in my cd player? Hmmm...I have a multidisk player, so... Hero (the soundtrack) Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Last of the Mohicans, Evanescence, Linkin Park, and Les Miserables. I usually sing a lot...cause I love singing, and usually with the windows down, 'cept when it's cold.
