Once upon a time in the kingdom of Aquatread...
An update................more to follow

I started out to write a post about this past week, and realized it's been two weeks since I posted, not one. So much has been going on that I just feel like I'm in a daze, like I'm a record being spun round and round on a turntable (who did that song back in the 80s?). Anyway, I'll try to make some sense, if that's possible.

I really don't remember much about the week before last, so I'll have to start with last weekend. Last Friday night, I got home from work and we went out to the movies. What did we see? Team America: World Police Aside from being totally appalled at the language, I laughed my ass off. Partially because the movie was so funny, and partially from watching SPC Nobody Special's reactions. Saturday I worked all day, SPC worked on somebody's car, and then we went to a party for the couples class at church. My boss and his wife are members at the same church, and there are two different pizza places represented. So we had lots and lots of pizza, lots of soda (and tea), Clue FX, RISK, and Pictionary. I know, I know. It sounds pretty tame, but it was alot of fun. I had entirely too much caffeine and sugar and had recurring (although blessedly brief) laughing fits. We called it a night around 9:30 or so. We missed Sunday School, trying to remember a password for something on the computer, but made it to church and played. We had a short afternoon and went to our associational meeting in Killeen. For the service that night, I played in the orchestra and SPC Nbs sang in the choir. It was so nice to play in an orchestra again--I'd really missed it. And I could hear my hubby all the way across the sanctuary, so I guess he enjoyed the choir as well.

Monday I was out most of the day, working with the beginner bands at both Intermediate schools, went to the music store, had lunch (Thai American Cafe.....umm, umm, good!), picked up pay check, cashed paycheck, went to auto shop to check on progress with our little roadster, home for an hour or so, and then work until after 8 pm. Tuesday & Wednesday worked all day (had to turn down 2 requests to sub on Wed.), church Wednesday night. Thursday I was finally going to get to sleep in, didn't set the alarm after SPC left for work. Alas, keys were locked in the van, so I had to go unlock it for him. Since I was up and had other errands to run, I enjoyed a nice leisurely breakfast at IHOP, went to the commissary, back home for a bit. SPC got home early, so we went and voted, he got a haircut, and I had just enough time to change clothes and get to work. Friday morning, back at the two schools, a relatively uneventful afternoon, and then SPC NBS got home. I'm sure he'll probably have something to say about the weekend, but wow! I promise whichever of us writes about it (even if it's both of us) you'll want to read.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful a time as I have the past weeks. Drop a line and say Hi!

Sounds like fun to me!  I'd take that kind of fun over too much alcohol, foolishness and a hangover any day...!

I was wondering where you'd got to....good to see you again!

In Copperas Cove. Cove Terrace across from HEB. It's a little bitty place, but the food's great and the owner is an awesome lady. We went there for the first time almost as soon as we moved here, and we've been there on average at least once a week, sometimes more. I'd be happy to give you directions, or even take you there sometime if you'd like. I still don't know enough people here.

Yeah, I think I have more fun without alcohol than I used to have when I drank. At the very least, a different kind of fun. And I remember more, too.

lifehappens--sound like fun, I'll get an email on the way.

I wish you could, too, Dharma...................mayhaps you'll have to visit the wonderful (please read as obscenely warm in October) Republic, I mean State, of Texas sometime and we'll have a big lunch party with SPC NBS, greywar, ssg geezer, psuedosoldier, lifehappens, and all of the others around here that I'm sure I missed. Maybe Gideon can even drive down from the panhandle. Ooohhhhh, wouldn't that be fun?!?!?!

I'm actually going to be in Texas during the holidays. I'm so excited to get to see my family again. I'm also hoping to meet Gideon and his family as well.

*I love Texas so much*

Whereabouts? (in a curious, also from texas sort of way, definitely not in evil stalker psychokiller fashion) I'm in Killeen, I've got friends and a house in San Angelo, and folks all over the northeast corner of the state from waco to texarkana.

Starting point is Houston, and then we'll be driving up to the panhandle . . . and then driving back down to Houston again. Most of my family lives in Texas, though primarily up in the panhandle (Wheeler, Clarendon, Amarillo, Claude, etc.). My parents live in Houston. I lived in San Antonio while Adrian was in AIT, and I got the opportunity to travel a little bit in South Texas, and I loved it. It's very beautiful there. I visited Waco while I was there, too, though I've never been to San Angelo.

You know, that's a distinct possibility.  We have friends at Ft Hood...he's an AF CATM instructor (Tsgt P Stivers, in case anyone wants to look him up for me) and we've been meaning to get down there and see them for ages.  Perhaps we'll do that after D gets back from deployment.  I know I'd love to have a JU party, texas style!
